  • New project: "mSense Middleware"
http://www.symbianresources.com/projects/msense/t2_msense.pngThe mSense Middleware provides a novel and powerful way to access sensor information on smartphones. A Facebook context-publishing demo showcases all the concepts present in the middleware: first, sensor information is collected from various built-in sensors like the accelerometer, magnetometer (compass) or GPS, as well as simulated sensors, user data (calendar, etc.) and input from web services like weather information. The data is then aggregated into sensor channels, which again provide an output that can be interconnected to an internal processing network. The results can then be used for various tasks or outputs, like an intertial navigation unit or to publish the user's context information to social networks like Facebook.

  • Gomoku v1.10 for S60 touch and non-touch devices
http://www.symbianresources.com/projects/gomoku/t2_gomoku.jpgA short time after the beta-release, the final Gomoku version v1.10 is now available for free through the Ovi Store and right here.

  • Updated ErrRd-Tool
Following up on the new Forum Nokia Blogs-post by Lucian Tomuta, the ErrRd utility installation file that helps with finding out additional information about error messages on the device has been updated. Now, the tiny but helpful and quite popular tool (around 5.000 downloads up to now) also creates the c:\temp\swierrors.txt file, which enables more detailed error messages of the software installer on S60 3rd Edition, FP2+ devices. Helps finding out the real reason why installation of a .sis-file failed! For more information, also see the Wiki page on the new Symbian Foundation developer portal.

  • New S60 3.x/5.x-Version of Freeware Gomoku
http://www.symbianresources.com/projects/gomoku/t2_gomoku.jpgGomoku (also known as Connect Five or Pente TM - see Wikipedia) is a traditional and very popular game that is a lot of fun and easy to play for two players. All you need is a sheet of checkered paper, a pen and a friend, and you're ready to go. Your task is to get an unbroken row of five stones in a horizontal, vertical or diagonal row. As you play in turns, you will usually have to think of some nasty traps in order to win.

  • New project: "Magic Wand"
http://www.symbianresources.com/projects/magicwand/t2_magicwand.jpgPoint your phone at a landmark and instantly know what it is. The project Magic Wand implements this concept for S60 devices equipped with GPS and a magnetometer (compass) sensor.

  • New project: "Speedtouch"
http://www.symbianresources.com/projects/speedtouch/t2_speedtouch.pngSpeedtouch is a simple but very addictive game for your Nokia 5800, N97 or one of the future touch devices. The concept is easy to understand: Touch the lights as quickly as you can. If you're too slow or miss, you lose. You will want to play again and again, trying to reach a new highscore. The game is available through the Ovi store.

  • New project: "Mobile Doctor"
http://www.symbianresources.com/projects/mobiledoc/t2_mobiledoc.jpgMobile Doctor helps injured persons in emerging markets with instantly finding nearby hospitals or medicine men. MobileDoc consists of two parts.

  • New project: "Mobile Dictionary"
http://www.symbianresources.com/projects/mobiledictionary/t2_mobiledictionary.pngMobile Dictionary is a very early prototype of a dictionary application for S60 devices. Its big advantage is that it's able to use standard dictionaries that can be downloaded for free from freedict.org. The main goal of this project was to work with those dictionaries as a base for possible future projects, so the end user interface as well as the search is not what you might expect of a normal freeware / commercial dictionary application. Nevertheless, it might be worth trying if if you need a simple dictionary that works on standard dictionary files.
